NDG Systems develops Canadian-led counter-UAS dual-use systems for defence sites and critical infrastructure. Our approach combines passive acoustic detection, optical sensing, RF awareness, radar inputs, and AI-enabled classification to detect, identify, and track low-altitude drones.
Contact NDG SystemsThe Problem
Small uncrewed aerial systems operate at low altitude, emit little or no RF signal, and can be deployed in numbers around military installations, infrastructure, and other protected sites. The economics have shifted: a threat that costs hundreds of dollars can force a response that costs millions, unless the detection architecture is built to match the scale and cost of the threat.
Legacy counter-UAS systems were built for larger, slower, more visible platforms. NDG Systems is purpose built to close that gap: persistent, multi-sensor awareness that is modular, cost effective to deploy across multiple sites, and designed for transition to sustained operations.
What We Do
NDG Systems designs and integrates layered sensor networks for persistent low-altitude airspace awareness. Our architecture combines acoustic, EO/IR, passive RF, and radar inputs into a common operational picture, including for targets that emit little or no RF signal.
Layered sensor arrays providing persistent coverage across the target perimeter, day and night, in all weather conditions.
Automated classification of Class I and II UAS, including GPS-silent and RF-silent platforms that defeat conventional detection methods.
Real-time track management across multiple simultaneous targets, with low-latency handoffs between sensor nodes as threats move through the defended area.
Open-architecture command and control software designed for interoperability with existing Canadian and allied tactical networks and platforms.
Hardware sourced and integrated in Canada, reducing supply-chain risk and supporting transition to sustained operational deployment.
Designed with allied interoperability in mind and informed by Ukrainian battlefield experience in counter-UAS sensing, distributed detection, and low-altitude airspace awareness.
Our Approach
NDG Systems leads program management, systems integration, Canadian delivery, and long-term sustainment. Our technical approach is informed by Ukrainian battlefield experience in counter-UAS sensing, distributed detection, and low-altitude airspace awareness.
Our sensor architecture reflects lessons from environments where small UAS threats are encountered at scale: low altitude, low signature, RF-silent operation, GNSS disruption, and multiple simultaneous targets.
A modular, node-based architecture allows a single protected site to expand into a distributed network of installations without redesigning the core system.
NDG Systems is built with supportability, lifecycle cost, cybersecurity readiness, Canadian industrial capacity, and transition to operational deployment in mind from the outset.
"Ukraine has shown how quickly low-cost aerial threats can change the operating environment. NDG Systems is focused on translating those battlefield lessons into Canadian capability."— Vera Kobalia, Founder, NDG Systems
